I don't think it is possible, but you could try taking the little stubby bits that you keep, with the seriel numbers on into your local PO and asking them. Did you cross them (make them payable to just one particular person?) You would probably have more luck if you had.
Best of luck.

If you have already sent the postal order to the other person then basically the answer is no. If you haven't sent it and you still have your Post Office receipt then you should be able to go back to the branch that you purchased it from and get a refund of the face value of the postal order. You will not be refunded the fee that you paid for the postal order.

No thats the whole point of a postal order, once you've bought it, it then cant be cancelled like a cheque can

I don't think so, it is like cash - only that when crossed can only be used by the person it is crossed to, or as cash by anyone when uncrossed. If sent, is like sending them real money in terms of use, the crossing of makes it slightly more secure.

Not recommended, but I have sent cash by special delivery in the past. That insures the package and contents.

Yes, you can cancel money orders, regular checks and even cashiers checks (the exception being certified funds).

Call the post office to start the process

Dont think you can Hayley, even if you cross it they can still put it in their bank account. Dunno how you will get round that one. I'm assuming you have posted it and it's in their possession?
