They are just trying to put up a smoke screen, anything to help their so called cause. They will try and distort the truth to make it look like us legals are just racist against the illegals, and the issue is not racist, just tired of the illegals getting away with everything and our country not having the the hairy coconuts tough enough to put an end to all this ********. We are tired, not racist, so quit trying to make something out of nothing. The ones that are so PRO are just trying to help thier illegal friends and family that are looking at getting deported if caught.

Racism has nothing to do with this situation. I'm certainly not a racist but I am anti-illegal immigration

Like a lot of other people, I have friends and acquaintences from all sorts of different backgrounds, and I tend to judge people by their character rather than their skin color, religion or national origin, but the bottom line is that we can't take in everyone who wants to come here because we can't afford it any more. The Industrial Revolution is over; Billybob Clinton signed NAFTA; factories are disappearing and taking jobs with them, and the rest of the world is going to have to fend for themselves from now on because the giant American teat is dry and we have no more to give.

No other country on the face of this planet has this problem because no one gives away as much as we do and I'll be damned if I'm going to feel guilty about being tapped out. Let someone else shoulder the burden from now on.

If you take your blinders off for a little while, and trace your family tree, you will find that your ancestors also came from another country. At that time, there were no laws that made it illegal to enter this country without permission. If there were, can you truly know whether your family would have longed for a better life so deeply, that they too would choose to be here illegally in order to stay?
Some people are ignorant because they haven't educated themselves enough to be otherwise; and some people just plain "choose" to be blinded by their ignorance. Which one are you?

I must be my mother's daughter, because it is all about my wallet. I'm not racist, my mother even teases me because I am part Spanish and part Native Indian, so this must make me Mexican.

People report you, because they have no valid arguments to fight you. They only have three and four letter words to work with.

I would like to see a solution established (not a fence or amnesty) that takes care of our deficit.

I think if we charged 12,000,000 immigrants 100 dollars for work permits that lasted a year (they had to buy one every year). They would agree to pay all hospitalization fees, no unemployment or welfare services.

At the end of the five years, they could buy a green card for 1500 dollars (if they keep their noses clean). They would have to register for the draft. All this time, we could be collecting valid taxes from them at about 4,000 dollars a year.

Our deficit would be paid off.

I don't like the idea of anchor babies. If they are going to have babies, they should register them as Mexican citizens.

Many racists hide their broad "anti-foreigner" agenda behind the legitimate "anti-illegal" movement. They hate Mexicans--all Mexicans, illegal or not.

Not all people who object to the anti-foreigner rhetoric are "Pro-illegal" either--they just believe that any measures taken should target illegal aliens specifically, not all Mexicans or foreigners indiscrimately.

The reason 'they' call 'you' racists is because a lot of 'you' are. Not all, but a lot.

Its pretty stupid to hear everyone rambling about the mexican immigration problem, and then to any canadian that wants to come here they just open their arms and welcome them. Its probably less about racism than it is about 'class-ism' (they dont want poor people coming here, but if you're rich come on over!), but that is still a form of bigotry.

My vote to stop illegal immigration: Make it easy for immigrants to come here legally.

They call us racist because it is easier to denigrate and attack those who disagree with them, than it is to justify their own argument. They have NO valid point that can stand in the face of fact, so they try to make it a moral argument. Well, they lose that argument too. All we want is for everyone who comes here, to just sign in, so we know who's here. What the hell is so hard about that?

The only reason you are called racist is because the people who promote illegal immigration also promote slave labor.
