I'm looking to buy a phone off ebay. I have cingular and I wanted to know if I do buy a Cingular phone, can I just stick my SIM card in the new phone and it will work? Or is it not that simple?

I'm not too sure about cingular but I'm sure you can purchase the cell on ebay and put your sim card in and it'll work. But you'll still have to contact cingular for them to activate it. Be careful though cause some people sell stolen cell phones and when you try to activate it, it'll come up as stolen. Hope that helped some.

It will most certainly work. But remember the phone has to take sim cards not all cingular or i have verizon and mine dont have a sim card. So you have to make sure the phone takes sim cards. Here lets say you get a razr i have a razr and mine doesnt have a sim card applicator so dont get a razr and you have to make sure the phone you have now isnt too old or else it wont work.

You can do that with some phones. Other phones wont let you because it will automatically lock up on you.
