OK, my relative did some Meth once upon a time, but she has left that behind, (and I am so proud of her!).
Her poor teeth are awful, and they can easily chip. She saw a dentist once, but she now has no insurance. At the time, the dentist could not understand how she could function without pain meds. She told him next to the withdrawal pains, it was easy. One tooth has broken off above the gum, but the roots is still in the gum. She cannot get it to stop a slow bleed. She said she needs to spit every 5-15 minutes. She has tried cotton gauge press, but it did not work. Don't say dentist, because there is no money for one. Does anyone have a suggestion???

One last fact, she is in her last trimester of a pregnancy.

Wow...this is a double sworded question. First, if she did use meth and it was a long time ago, she may or may not have other problems deeper then the bleeding tooth. At birth, the baby will be tested along with the mother for control substances. They may also test for Hep C, AIDS, and other relative issues.

The second thing to look at is the state you are in. For example California has Medi-Cal and Medicare for those individuals without insurance. If she has no insurance, chances are she needs to apply. She should already be recieving Pre-natal care. She should find a dentist through a referring physician. Is she has a bleeding tooth, she is susceptable for infection and becoming septic (Having a blood borne infection) that will effect her unborn child.

There is no reason her current OB/GYN has not already addressed this problem. If she is septic, there are major issues involving gross negligence on behalf of the MD for not screening her more closely. Hopefully he has done the appropriate labs. CBC, A7, HCG. Chances are, Unless she is not telling you something, the MD has already done what is appropriate. I am not sure of the situation at hand here.

The other option is to go to the ER. We know she does not have insurance, but hospitals cannot refuse to treat patients whether they are insured or not. Also, keep her away from blood thinners. If she has pain and is taking aspirin, she is worsening the problem. Most people OD on asprin without knowing it. Aspirin is a major blood thinner! Along with most herbals too. When people take aspirin, it makes it difficult for the blood to clot. Check what meds she is taking.

It is my suggestion, that you take her to a County or City Social Service office to seek assistance. If her bleeding continues, she may become anemic, develop an infection, or loose platelets which will make it very difficult to stop the bleeding during delivery of her baby. GOOD LUCK!

What state are you in? You should be able to get like medi-cal and thats includes medical and dental and vision well it does here in california and the state will pay for everything. I know no money but most dentist will take payments, just go and make your case, no one should have to live like this.

Just keep putting pressure on the bleeding tooth with a tissue or paper towel.

tell her to mix warn water with salt and do mouth washes with it, not to swallow it but just keep it there for at least 30 seconds or more, then do it again and again. this will hopefully stop the bleeding.
good luck.
