We have been dating for six months. I feel like I have been calling him too much lately. I also feel that lately I am the one to make the first move to hang out. Do you think it would be bad if I didn't call or email him for a couple of days, and wait for him to do something? I ask because I don't want him to get the impression that I don't care anymore, or that I want to break up. I just want him to make the first move and to give him some so he doesn't feel overwhelmed or suffocated by me.

You are on the right track. Get busy with girlfriends and family and don't make the first move.

He won't assume anything.

I think it is a good idea. I understand where you are coming from. I had to do this to my guy because I just felt like I was always the one calling and he wasn't making an effort to contact me. So, one day, I just didn't call or email. I kept it up all day. When he called me, I let it go to voicemail and I waited 2 hours to call back. When I did call back, I told him I was busy and couldn't talk long. Since then, communication is not an issue anymore. He calls regularly.

No it isn`t bad, you both need your own space, you sound young, I was like you when i was young, and it didn`t work for me ringing boyfriends at every opportunity because i thought if i didn`t they would leave me, this is a kind of insecurity on your part, play it cool let him ring you for a change, If he`s interested then he`ll ring you, If he doesn`t then obviously he`s not that keen, then you can ring him and ask him if he`s ok and want to continue with the relationship. Remember that you`ll probably go through a lot of boyfriends before you finally settle down with the right man.

Why not slow down your needyness so gradually that he doesn't notice?

Don't be a crazy clingy bi*ch. Guys don't like that. I bet if you don't contact him for a few days, he'll contact you.
