Assuming that my kids could get out on their own.....I'd grab my photo albums, gucci purse, important papers and a diet coke.
It takes about 3 weeks to accumulate 25 years worth of sh*t. I know because my house actually HAS burnt down.

In five minutes i could probably put out the fire myself, and the VFD would be there by that time.

My best friends Rosary
My phone(not because its a phone, but because of the pictures, and numbers i have on that thing)
birthcertificates, stuff like that, papers
my little sister (i can hold her hand she can walk)
My letters from my best friend Staycee
and my jewlry box, witha horse on it, that my father got me
but there would be so much more

Nothing but a bottle of scotch.
Then sit out the front and watch it all go up.
To hold one memory would be toooooo painful.
Better just to start all over again.

if I had a child - thats who I would take then get out. If I dont have children, carry my wife outside. If you're talking about personal effects, I would take my wallet, cell phone and mp3 player.

My parents,my sister,and our emergency kit which has a lot of emergency supplies in it,like water,food,first-aid kit.Oh yeah,and a cell phone to call the fire fighters and stuff.

Family comes first and then grab my wallet before heading to the door. A lot of things in my wallet other than money.

My grandfather's watch, and a small box I keep with little keepsakes & such from my entire life. The rest can burn - that's why I have insurance.
