I am puzzled over this Sandy Berger scandal. It is pretty much accepted that he took documents illegally which he admitted. Thats not what bothers me. What bothers me is that no one seems to be asking on 'what' exactly was he hiding. I have looked everywhere on the Internet. Does anyone know?

I would like to know too. Clinton sent him to get whatever he got. I think the Clintons have better files than J Edgar Hoover ever thought about.

Might never know for sure. It will take someone leaking the information, as I believe the documents he stole were classified. The prevailing "guess" is that they were embarrassing to Clinton, and had to do with his poor efforts in combating international terrorism. I've read that "The missing documents involve two or three draft versions of the report as it was being refined by the Clinton administration. The Archives is believed to have copies of some of the missing documents".

It must have been something very significant for Clinton to send Berger in to steal the documents.

It doesn't matter whether they were copies or originals. It is illegal to make copies of classified documents and take them from the national archives. It is even illegal to make notes about classified documents and leave the archives without having those notes reveiwed by security. Some left wing radical tried to make a point about that, so figured I'd respond to that as well.

I've included a couple links for your review that I think give a pretty good picture of what Berger did and even what specific documents he stole.

he was hiding the facts on two things:
1.that a terrorist plot during the year 2000 was foiled by a customs official whom acted alone and was just very good at picking the perp out foiled a terrorist plot,Berger was probably asked by the president at that time(Clinton)to get the report so they could change the details(truth)and make it look like the President initiated the whole thing(leaving him a legacy)
2.It(the documents) would have shown the fact that the President at that time(Clinton) had known there was an Al Quieda group here in the US at that time and he did nothing about it,it would also show that he did not pass any of this information to the new President(Bush)in the passing of presidential power, i.e.these documents would have made Clinton and the Democrats look very bad on terrorist issues during there reign in the white house to the 9/11 commision

Berger stole & destroyed documents that involved Clinton in 9/11, somehow.
He was just protecting Clinton and his Adminstration.
It was all classified documents, that's why the government hasn't released what they were.
(Interesting, the News Media DOESN'T want to know anything about it. Because they don't want to report it. They want to cover it up.)

The documents that were removed were copies.

The National Archives retained the originals.

The right wing liars club always omits that fact. Copies, not originals.
