Hi,
I think that the ride has not really changed a lot. It is just reopened with captain jack sparrow in it. It has one more difference: The drops in the ride are a little bit longer and steeper. The ride is actually quite the same but still... it is fun now as it has the captain in it now! The ride was actually awesome! The ride is really great even it has been changed or not!
Aki.

Personally, I prefer it the old way, as I'm somewhat of a traditionalist.
Some say Walt would not approve of the original ride, saying it wasn't "child friendly". But I feel that's wrong, as I remember as a kid watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" (it was on Sunday nights here) Walt himself showing a cast member the models of the mock-up of the rides, and beings after his death, there was a tome of his thoughts that the big wigs referred to, so they could get an insight of "What would Walt do?", I'm sure the original was the way Walt envisioned it.

I rode it at WDW and thought that it was very well done...it keeps the original integrity of the ride but updates it. I think Walt would approve. :)

Well when I went on it, it looked almost the same. But they did a few things here and there.
