my eggs keep rupturing inside of me during ovulation so I am unable to get pregnant again. The dr sugested a drug called clomid. Do you know of any over the counter or herbal solutions I could try? I really don't want to take clomid. I have a normal 28 day cycle now, but my eggs keep bursting around the 14 day mark, so I can't get them fertilized. help plz. thx

I have taken Clomid before - for a total of 7 months and let me tell you the moods you get in just get worse with each month - I dont ovulate at all and this is why I had to take it (it didnt work for me - well I did ovulate but nobody had bothered to test hubby and it turned out we needed IVF in the end) I also have several friends who have had a few children with the help of Clomid - just make sure your Dr monitors you with it... If you do take it - warn your partner you could be a little more agressive and emotional than normal - by about the 6th month of taking it there was one night hubby wasnt hungry and didnt feel like dinner - I decided that he should have dinner and burst into tears and tried to force him to have something - he didnt want it so I picked up a plate and threw it frisby style at his head (luckily he ducked) this is just so unlike me I am very non violent - the IVF drugs are much kinder to your emotions than Clomid but IVF is so much more expensive.

As for alternatives Im not sure I just went along with what the Drs told me to take.

I hope your successful soon and if your partner hasnt been tested yet GET HIM TESTED - I could have skipped the whole Clomid thing altogether as my hubby also has a problem on his side.

I took clomid because I wasn't ovulating at all. I didn't have any side effects and got pregnant on the first month!

I'd stay away from herbal remedies. Some of them have been shown to cause infertility and/or birth defects, and most just haven't been tested much. Medications your doctor prescribes are much safer for you and your (future) baby. There are FDA-approved drugs besides clomid, too.
