The standards of knighthoods are getting lower and lower, I think I'm going to call everyone Sir. Even if I were a fan, then why don't the whole U2 group get one? Anyway I suppose he's got enough money to have bought it somehow by supporting New Labour.

Yes I agree with everybody. What is this Irish thing about because Saint Bob Geldof is also Irish and he's got one too, so it doesn't seem to make much difference, both have made millions out of charity because what else has Geldof done? Nothing he's even worse than U2.

Passado, The reason for Bono´s or any other personalitys "Humanitarian Work" Is to promote their record or upcoming Movie, I mean if your career is flagging then go and work for the UN as an amabassador,
I mean "Boneo" and his one man campaign to eradicate poverty, must have been a success, as hes now off building a 50 milliion mansion for himself, which is quite understandable as there are no more Poor peopl in the world.
What pissed me off though, was that, he got the banks to write off the debts of Third world countries, whose leader had blown all the money on Booze and women, much the same reason I have run up an overdraft, but do you see that Pikey Bonio speaking to my BAnk manager ? No .,.,,,, Tanks for nuttin Bono,,,,

What a lot of crap. It's only an honourary knighthood as he's not British but please.... he could buy off the third world debt and have change to continue living his lavish and petty lifestyle i.e. I want my hat back! He's leading a battle for an issue, rightly or wrongly, that will never be resolved by our government. It makes him and the politicians look good when it appears that they're doing something about it. Again, rightly or wrongly, it will only be when and if the people with loads of cash who make lots of noise about poverty etc dig really deep into their pockets and stop relying on people earning minimum wage and less to give and give, that the problem will be resolved. I have no doubt that I'll be still giving and wishing it would end while Bono and his mates are still charigng punters up to £200 to watch them rock.

I like the way you called him "BONEO" - it's dog food here in UK, & I hope he now gets caught up in the cash-for-honours scandal.
