well, are you wearing real gold or silver? If not you may have a sensitivity to cheap jewelry, i do. Or you might have a sebaceous cyst. Which you DO NOT mess with or pop it. go to the Dr. My mom have one on the back of her ear, and she squeezed it, and ended up with blood poisoning, because she squeezed the poison right into her blood stream, be careful

leave your earrings out of your ears, and put some triple antibiotic ointment on the affected ear about four times a day. if you don't start to see improvement in a few days, you might want to see a doctor for some oral antibiotics.
by the way, do you sleep with your earrings in? if so, that could be some of your problem. you may be sleeping on that side, therefore irritating that ear. always take your earrings out at bedtime.
I would say that you could be allergic to nickel. it's in a lot of earrings. but if it only affects one ear, it's probably not that.
Hope you feel better soon, and have a Merry Christmas!

Yes, you have an infection. You need to remove the earring immediately, clean with alcohol on a q-tip or cotton ball and a little neosporin. Do not replace earring until your ear heals.
