I sure think it effects each of us,, i can listen to songs and be calm or hyper, it depends on my mood and how much i have had to drink, if i was drinking alot i can listen to music and remember my mom--- or miss a ex that i was fond of--- or get the rhythm and bust a move ( old time i know), if i am not drinking then it effects me the same way but not as Strong, song that would have made me cry-- would make me proud of who i am, and so on--- and i know others that are the same way,, just go out to a club ( do not drink) just watch and you will see the difference music makes, or just sit back and watch your friends or parents when certain music comes on and see how they change. i sure this helps you,,,,,,,,,good luck to you.

It can't decide WHO you are; but it can very much affect your mood and sensory perception temporarily. Can calm you down or get you amped up.
When I want to relax or meditate I listen to classical guitar and it calms me.
When I'm working out or back in high school before a football game or wrestling match I'd listen to heavy metal - AC/DC, Metallica, or Guns N Roses to get pumped up.

of course it does, if you let it. there was a study a few yrs ago with classical music. certain high-tempo classical instruments were played and caused people to drive faster than the lower-tempo songs.I suppose if you let it affect u it will.
