When working in a bar, charged friends for a half a pint of beer when I served a full pint. Sometimes.

A very good question. I wonder if the self righteous element on here will be honest enough to answer it!
Yes, when I worked in the theatre some years ago, Norman Wisdom was performing and I got a load of tickets from the box office manager and gave them to a group of nurses at an old folks home who I knew were big fans of his.
They all had a great time and because I worked there I was able to arrange for them all to meet Norman after the show. It really was a wonderful night.
The next day I began to feel a bit guilty about not paying for the tickets, so I dobbed the box office manager in.
She got a suspended sentence, but i think she should have got life.
Dirty....thieving...bastard

I worked in an office, where they had a big box of candy for a ttreat for our employees as a snack now and then, all candy is for sale for 40 cents, Soo one day I did not have the money, no change or anything, and i really wanted my kid to have a nice candy bar for a after school treat, Soo I took the candy, Well a day later i got caught, My boss was very upset over 40 cents, Well I denied i took the candy, But we worked it out, no big deal

Well i'm an extremely honest person myself, but i like your question!
I know loads of people who have done similar things... a friend's sister worked in a local takeaway and used to give change for a £20 note, instead of a £10 note etc.. and give free chips etc to people she knew.
Plus some of my family members used to write-off 'bad goods' in the warehouse, then bring them home as they were 'bad' so would have been tipped anyway! other people have helped themselves to items used as part of work, ie screws, superglue, solvent cleaners etc.
There is loads of this sort of thing happening, and i think people see it as some sort of perk of the job!
As a small business owner i do feel for business who are badly affected by this sort of thing, huge companies may not notice the dent in their profits, but for a smaller business choosing the right staff may make or break them (and their business and future!)

No, I have never done that. I had to check a very good friend's driving documents once. She had been given a HO/RT1 to produce. She was driving a neighbour's car and her insurance didn't cover her. I had to report her for driving without insurance. She had a hefty fine and 5 points on her licence. Boy, did I feel bad. We still remained good friends.

No, but I knew several people who did and got arrested for it. Every one of them got convicted -- two for felonies because of the value of the goods stolen.
