I'm currently 7 months pregnant and am trying to eat as healthy as possible. I'm starting to get really bored w/ having my regular breakfast which consists of whole grain cereal w/ strawberries or banana slices and juice or occassionally a cup of coffee. What would be some other healthy breakfast choices besides what I regularly have? Also, I'd prefer the choices be things that help w/ a very sluggish digestive system o and no prune juice, that stuff gets me going but makes me wanna puke, esp. in the early mornings. Thanks.

I ate a lot of frosted shredded wheat and yogurt flavored cheerios. Cereal bars are also good and nutritious, with fiber. I recommend orange juice (with the pulp for fiber) and milk as well. Yogurt is always good, as well as scrambled eggs with salsa (which gives you a vegetable serving for the day). Apple juice will also help 'speed things along' in your digestive track and is much easier on the palate than prune juice.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope things go well. Merry Christmas!

It should be fine I had the same problem when i was at the beginning of my pregnancy I couldn't hardly eat anything had morning sickness so my doctor told me to drink the carnation breakfast drinks so that way i got the calories i needed and vitamins for the baby and then to try and eat something solid a couple hours later if i felt like i could hold it down. Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck.

I know this might not help you, but i don't think I have had a really healthy breakfast since I've been pregnant. I'm 27weeks and I eat whatever I have a craving for. Some mornings I have cereal, or pancakes, or eggs and sausage, or toaster strudels. So just don't starve yourself. You need some variety.

I always start the day off with an orange (I'm 9 months along). The vitamin C gives you an extra boost in the morning, which is great if you can't handle coffee when your pregnant like I can't. I have also been on an egg kick.

When I was pregnant breakfast was not a choice, I had morning sickness throughout.

I would try eating oatmeal with fruit, that is always a healthy choice.

My secret weapon is benefiber. I just stick it in my juice or cereal. It doesnt alter the taste or tecture, and it keeps me flowing. Otherwise I stop up for days.

I just eat whatever sounds good. Cereal usually, maybe a scambled egg on occasion, or some toast, or a toast and egg sammich. Maybe a bagel. Just depends on what i can find, and what sounds good.

make your own "egg mcmufin" at home. I really enjoyed that and when made at home it is really healthy!
