They are different in all four categories, mainly due to the fact that the United States was created by and operates within a written Constitution.

The area of the biggest difference (among these four) is medical services. While the United States is still (thankfully) resisting the move toward socialized medicine, both Great Britain and Canada have jumped in with both feet. The result is that medical advances and services in general are better in the United States.

Randy, you are wrong when you say that the difference between the USA and Canada&Britain is that the US has a Constitution. Both Canada and Britain also have Constitutions. You are however correct when you say that the US governments role in medical services is different that that of Canada&Britain. However, I disagree with your statement that not having a socialised medical services plan is good. What is wrong with everyone being able to get the medical care they need, and not having to break the bank to get it? And your claim that the US is ahead of Canada&Britain is absolute rubbish... If there is any difference, it is minute, and will reach our system rapidly, and everyone will be able to get it...

I know that in England, health care is at least in part, provided to everyone through the government. It's not just for the elderly or poor, but everyone. Medical insurance and treatment based on the ability to pay is a pretty American concept

The UK and Canada are different because they don't vote rednecks into government.

Defense. The US spends more on defense than any other country, both in raw dollars and per capita dollars.
