my girlfriend wants to marry me..we have been together for 5 years and have lived together this whole time...i dont wanna get married..i know she really wants to what should i do

Actually, if it's been 5 years that you've lived together, then you are legally married. Sorry to be the one to drop this little legal tidbit of news on you. It may not be on paper, but if you decided to leave her, she could sue for alimony, and with a good lawyer, get it! Marry the girl! Be an adult for once. Really, adulthood isn't all that bad! Try it!

After 5 years it looks like you can make it as a couple. Why does she want to get married? Why don't you want to get married? You both need to talk about this and see how you can work it out. If neither one of you can change your opinion it may be time to go your separate ways.

well let me just start by saying that the answer that is 3 above mine was a good answer. legally you are married, it is common law marriage. and instead of having a wedding and actaully getting married..like on paper you should just look into having a committment ceremony. talk to her and let her know that you are legally married already just not on paper, and you dont wanna put it on paper yet...so you could see if she would be ok with a committment ceremony. that way you two could promise yourselves to each other and not have to worry about the details like marriage licenses and things like that. just tell each other how much you love each other and leave the rest of it alone.

If you have been together for that long and are happy why not make her happy and get married ? If you aren't happy you should break it off and let her find someone that appreciates her and will marry her.

You should be a man and tell her that you don't want to get married....then she needs to make a decision.
The thing is you don't have to marry anybody no matter how long you've been together.
Don't get married just because she wants to....you'll both end up miserable and unhappy.

Tell your girlfriend where you stand and that you love her and are happy with the things way are and if she decides to go because of that it is a sad truth sometimes but she can't expect you to do something you don't feel right about.

Never get married unless you feel that it's right for you. Otherwise, tell your girlfriend that you are not ready for marriage yet, and have no desire to rush into it.
