If you are not allergic, a guinea pig is a wonderful pet. They are much more active than the small cages petstores sell you with. They purr and lick when happy and enjoy cuddling as well as roaming about. Rabbits are very nice too and also active; as well as litter trainable. Both require weekly cage maintenance and vet visits. They have an average lifespan between 3 and 6 years generally. If you get a female, their health is generally better if you spay them.
Turtles are actually great pets, but require continuous expansion of their habitats as they grow (once settled though they are not expensive). I have two red-eared sliders that now have a75 gallon kiddie pool in my kitchen and whom I take for walks.
Best, Katie!

Don't get a hamster you will end up not wanting to clean the cage. Same with fish how boring. A cat is good but you have to clean it's litter box but not as bad as cleaning your carpet cause your puppy pooed and peed everywhere. I would go with a cat or better yet a pet rock. But really a cat is best low maintenance active animal. NO RABBITS EVIL LITTLE CRITTERS.

Hamster
1. It's cute and playful
2. Cheap to buy and feed
3. Only need to clean the cage once a week (unlike cat, dog)
4. You can leave for a couple of days and it will be fine.

Try a hamster or two or a kitten or puppy. I'd rather get a puppy because they are active and very playfull.

A cat. Even though it is probably the only creature in the world that serves no purpose from what I have been able to ascertain, they are like little to no maintenance.
They can survive with or without you and not give a flying f.ck whether you are around or not. Just as long as they are getting theirs they do just fine.

A pet rat. They have individual personalities, and they are just great pets.
Get a female if you want a really active pet. Get a male if you want one who is more ''cuddly''.
