You can find the website of the radio station and e-mail them with the day and time you heard the song. They should have the info or help you find it. I have done this numerous times and gotten great results.

In England there's a number you can call and it texts you the song name and singer. It only needs four bars of any tune (or so they claim, next time I'm bored with a hangover I'll try to catch it out) It knows whether it's a cover. It's quite impressive. Can't remember the number though.

you can actually call the radio station and ask which version of a song they play, or you can go on songs.com and it will let you look by title or a track - although - they will list all the people who have recorded the song. i believe you can even find out on amazon music who does certain song

I go to Google, type a phrase from the song in quotes and then the word LYRICS outside the quotes. Example:

"Old McDonald had a farm" LYRICS

It works remarkably well.
