It has never been about the people, but always about the people rich enough to run and dominate and lie the best.

Yes.

Our government is a mess, obviously. Know how that happened? We, the people, quit paying attention. While we were all worrying about whether our teams would win, whether our houses and clothes and bodies and jewelry and cars were cool, who was being voted off 'Survivor,' which celebs were dating or splitting; when we chose to simply consume our country and stop participating in its basic function, we let it happen...if that's not a government created by the people, I don't know what is.

In America, by the very design of our government, we always have the choice, to infuse new life into and recreate our governing bodies, either by our involvement in the process, or by our ignorance and indifference. We get what we deserve.

It used to be. BUT Now, it is a government of the government, by the government, & for the government. It is all about them, what they want. It is no longer by the people, or for the people. It is a sorry state now a days. I myself am waiting for the REVOLUTION!

Yes, except lately the people have been asleep at the wheel, allowing corporations to take over. There should be more individual voting and political participation. Everyone likes to complain, but no one likes to do anything about it.

The recent election was a sign that the people might be waking up. Let's hope it continues.

Yes, and ignore all the "blame America first" negative crowd.

For many people the only one "keeping them down" is themselves and their negative attitudes - personal or cultural.

Some segments of American culture are so dysfunctional and by being so dysfunctional their groups refuse to take any responsibility for their group's problems.

Take responsibility, be accountable, live to improve yourself and you'll get along just fine.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN FATE. You are the product of your decisions.
