Hi right now people buy desktops, hard drives, RAM, etc for gift for christmas, it is best to wait until january that's when dell and HP and everything will go down in price a lot.

As more and more people purchase hard drives and RAM the prices go down and keep going down.
When few people buy RAM and hard drives the prices decrease very little. That's the reason to wait until after christmas and new years day is gone.

It sure will. But remember that the present sizes will probably be of no use for newer software. Can u imagine that 80286 computer worked with 1 mb ram, 20 mb hard disc and programmes like wordstar and lotus could be carried in a floppy? Further cost is relative. Rs 5000 ,ten years ago is not equal to Rs 5000 now. All said and done prices of electronic hardware are continuing to fall in real terms. The rule is if u need an item buy it now, but bet for the best price, do not be fooled or cheated.

Ram will continue to increase in price, but you can by a Maxtor HD at most stores that sell that type eq for 60=70 bucks, I paid that for 200 gig drive, not bad, and sometimes you can get a rebate, Don't look for ram to go down,

the price of RAM will take a dive as newer versions come out (such as DDR when DDR2 came out) HOWEVER after a certain period, the price will go up again, since companies will no longer manufacture the older versions and they will be harder to come by

hard drives' prices will constantly be falling...you can get a decent hard drive for almost free nowadays if you know where to look.
