Actually there can be two arguments for your question. Firstly that Indian women have been suppressed for year together & remained unprotected against all the crimes such as domestic voilence, dowry etc commited , so in order to give them protection law makers have ennacted such laws. Second argument can be that such enactments are brougt forward inorder to secure women vote banks by politicians so they do it. You talk of discrimation between men & women laws giving example of advance countiries like US & Britain but dear friend in those countiries such laws were enacted many years back but when it was found that the men were being made to suffer from the hand of women new laws were enacted for mens protection. But will such thing happen here in India thats the big question. If you get a sensible, Govt. in centre it can happen but if such power hungry Govt. which depands on womens vote bank remains in power then forget it. Dont think by giving Rajiv Gandhis killing example you can change the nature of the present Govt. they are least bothered about such things what is more important is power in centre for them which provides them bread & butter not who killed Rajiv Gandhi whether a female or male terrorist in their dictionary defination of terrorist is not gender based. So my dear friend Gaurav wait for the morning which will bring a good impartial sensible Govt. in the centre, WO SUBAHA KABHI TO AYYAGEE.....!!!!

That's just the simple fact, Feminist DON'T care about equality, they care about helping women (even if it pushes them ahead). The thing about domestic violence against men though is that is usually is not nearly as extreme. Not only is a man tougher (in almost all cases) the women is usually weaker (in almost all cases) so women can get hurt far worse with domestic violence. That isn't to say men can't be harmed severely from domestic violence because they can be, it's just not as common. And think about it, how many men are actually going to go to a shelter? That is why we should not have an equal number for men and women, it is not worth it. Feminist hate her because she doesn't support women supremacy (yes Feminist, if you keep only trying to help women for all eternity this will happen. So weather you know it or not this is what you fight for). _______________________________________... Bouncy Oink- How you eve accept anything from a Feminist website (Feminist facts) I have no idea. Did you know its a fact that most Feminist studies are done so biased? Like the Wage Gap? Accept it or not the Wage Gap is almost entirely false. When you take into account (which the Feminist study didn't FACT) all the variables women earn the same as men. Accept the actual facts if you are so into them. P.S Men are 7 times as likely to be attacked.

Unfortunately, when the lawmakers write a new law, they don't actually write the law.
Someone else writes all the legal jargon so you end up with a law that has a lot of things not intended to be in the law ends up as law.
The main reason the laws tend to discriminate against men is that very few men report being abused by their wife or girlfriend,it has to do with male ego.
Rape is a crime committed by man against a woman, but if a woman rapes a man its assault.
Women also use "battered wife syndrome"as an excuse to attack their husband/boyfriend even if they didn't do anything.
History has many stories about women who are worse than men,but the legal systems still tend to treat women as the weaker sex and need the protection of laws and the courts.

who cares about Indias Laws? The ones we have here are screwed up from the get go. My ex destroyed my house, called the cops and said I did it. If my son , who witnessed it had not been there I would have been screwed again. Not to mention the time she was pullig my hair out , and after3 request to stop I punched and went to jail.

Women have always been suppressed and voiceless in the asian countries. It is very important and i can say that this is the most sensible law introduced after independence.

If you made the law to include women also, then men would just frame them and you'd end up with more convicted women than men! It would save men from bride burning!

yeah well in america if a man complains to the police that a woman hit her he will get laughed at so either way it has the same outcome as your law.
