Because they are full from eating some delicious food and when a person is full they are satisfied (aka jolly)... They aren't happy that they are fat, they are just happy cause they ate well and their full!

my sister is a bit overweight and she is always happy and jolly, I like when she comes over. Maybe cause they're happy with themselves and don't give two sticks what others think.

I don't know but I am overweight and there is nothing to be jolly about, you have to watch everything you put in your mouth. Unless you aren't trying to lose weight and then you don't care so you are happy cause you can eat whatever you want.

Probably because they are actually HAPPY with themselves and don't try to please everyone else. You can never find ANY happiness in trying to do that. If you love yourself, you can't help but be jolly.
Besides, I think since they don't focus in their appearance, all their attention goes to the inside and endearing people to you by your personality and not your looks.
I just can't see anyone who eats carrot sticks, chews on diet pills, or sticks fingers down their throat ever possibly being happy.

maybe becuase all overweight people had to have at least one comment from a rude jerk at one time or another, so they have empathy and want to make people feel comfortable and welcome around them, the oppostite of how soem people have made them feel. i don't really know tho. i think it depends on the individual mostly. maybe it is a sterotype?

I think that it is Santa mixed with they start to not give a damn for insults, for example, skinny people call themselves fat so they are embarrassed to go to the beach, but overweight men go topples to the beach.

Many centuries ago they were considered "Jell-o" but it was mispronounced once and the name "Jolly" stuck and it has been like that ever since.

I usually consider them to be sweaty and hot. (Not the "Hot" as in good looking, but "Oh, my god! The temperature!"). I consider most of them as very unhappy, really.
It's probably b/c of the fact that most of them are overweight b/c food represses emotions, making them happy, so food is their friend, not only that, but then they get unhappy b/c they're overweight, and they eat more, then more....then....more....more....more....more....

i think its because they weird cuz of there immense size it can change the tone of their voice box making it sound jollier...
