You can try System Restore:
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
This might work but, if the files have been deleted, you should first check the Recycle Bin. If they're not there than, on another computer, do a search for "Recover Lost Files", find a file recovery program you like, download it to a CD or Floppy and then run the program on your computer.

Doing a system restore will not get the files back. But if you really need to know, here it u go. Start system tools then find a date that goes back like a week or what ever is desired.

Go to START>Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System restore (this option is in the upper left hand corner) then follow the instructions on the screen.
This will restore your comp. to a previous time but if your files were deleted they may not come back. I hope this helps.

1. See if you right click on the desktop if the icons are hidden....it will say either show, if they are hidden, hide if they are not. It may be as simple as that.
2. Go to the start button, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore....take it back a day or two and it will be like it was.
