I have a mostly tan rabbit with a white streak up his head and a white ring around his neck. I have been trying to figure out what kind of rabbit he is but every website I look at it does not say. Can you help me rabbit experts?

~ Hi!!

Sorry to hear about your dilemma. I think your rabbit is probably a dutch rabbit. Sorry but it's either that or . . . a mutt!! A crossbreed between (something) and a dutch so it probably has a good chance of being a dutch rabbit!!

There are usually numerous things that tell a rabbits breed. One is the type of ears. Is your rabbit a lop, or not? If she is a lop, she would probably be a holland lop. If not, perhaps she is a flemish giant. I've had many rabbits, and usually you can just name a few breeds, since unless you got your rabbit from a breeder, she is probably a mix of many different kinds. I'm sure a veternarian experienced with rabbits would be able to identify the breed of your bunny.

It sounds like a Dutch Rabbit to me, except they have a little bit more than a white ring around their neck, usually.

Very likely he is a cross breed or even a "mutt". You may not find a breed reference just like him. This is not a bad thing for a pet. They can be hardier and more pleasant than the pure breds because there hasn't been the temptation for inbreeding that can cause a real problem.
Unless you are interested in showing, or meat production, just enjoy your bunny as a unique individual. A true one of a kind.

your rabbit sounds beautiful. i've never heard of any particular breed of rabbit with those markings. many rabbits are mix of breeds like dogs and cats. what type of fur does your rabbit have? that also plays into it.
