Your description is not very clear. It sounds like your original infection did not completely clear itself. How was it pierced? Did you use the appropriate sterilization and disinfection procedures before, during and after the piercing? Did you re-pierce the old scar? In any case, if you have blood and puss coming out of the wound, you most likely have an infection. It needs to be treated properly! Hot packs may help, but you really should see your Dr. and get some antibiotics on board. Also it needs to be evaluated to see if the infection is spreading to the surrounding tissue. Left untreated, it will most likely get worse. Also, what material is your ring made of? It should be surgical stainless steel. Even then, your body may be rejecting it as a foreign body. Is the surrounding area red, hot to the touch, painful, swollen, do you have a fever? Scar tissue is not like regular tissue of the surrounding area. It usually lacks the nerve sensitivity, the ability to stretch, and if re-injured, will heal more slowly than it did in the original procedure. I urge you to seek proper medical care now.

It's probably just a minor infection that you can easily treat with an antibiotic ointment. A generic triple antibiotic ointment will work for this.....or if you'd rather the name brand.....Neosporin. If it doesn't respond to this, gets worse, or you develop fever, then you'll need to go to a doctor. Best of luck to you.

I hate to be discouraging, but it's your own fault for piercing your belly button. Good grief, I just can't see any logic whatsoever behind that! All you are doing is risking what has obviously happened to you, and undergoing pain for no good reason.

Use neosporin and keep pressure off of your waist. See your doctor as you may be diabetic.
