I like GreenGirl's answer, and I will add my two cents to it. Most perennials bloom for about a month. I am in Zone 5
First through last for flowering:
Crocus
Botanical tulip
Daffodils
- Naturalize well and last for years
Tulips
Iris
Oriental Poppies
Phlox
Peonies
Clematis
Coreopsis
- Lots of varieties - I love the delicate "Moonbeam"
Roses
Hosta
- more known for its leaves but the flowers are pretty too. Some of the white flowered ones are deliciously fragrant.
Purple Coneflower
- Very hardy and long blooming
Black-eyed Susan
- Very hardy and long blooming
Delphinium
Hollyhock
Day Lily
Gladiolus (annual or tender perennial)
Sedum
Have fun :)

I'm not sure which zone you are in, but probably the most common perennial, here in Minnesota, that re-blooms is the Stella De Oro Day lily. Another one is Lamb's Ear. There are also a couple of variaties of perennial Geraniums that will re-bloom thoughout the year, although the flowers are not as brilliant as the annual Geraniums.

Start with Oriental Poppies, then plant Gladiolus bulbs (plant bulbs 2 weeks apart, this way they'll continue to bloom), then some Purple Cone flowers, Giant White Daisies, Lavender, and Chrysanthemums. Good luck!

I am in zone 9 and recently started from seed perennials like: 5 kinds of coreopsis, cone flowers...several kinds of seeds and plants....hollyhock from seed, 5 kinds of daisies, etc. and etc.....ordered bareroot like daylilies, cannas, iris and bulbs like gladiolus. Come back on and let us know your zone...
