santa claus comes from a mix of religions.
in europe, they celebrate "st. nicholas day" which is to celebrate that saint, who was greek orthodox, but now we put the two together: so we've got the st. nicholas which we now use interchangably with santa claus and then we put jesus's birthday on the 25th and that's of the christian religion... so it's a mix!

santa claus, who originated from Saint Nicholos, was a good christian who gave to the poor. Both of his parents died whilst he was young.
