side split stretches:
1st stretch:take a thick book and put it down on the ground then put one of your feet on it and go down into the splits position as far as u can and hold it there for like 2 minutes and switch legs.then do it without the book.
2nd stretch:put one leg straight in front and the other leg fully bended and try to touch your foot that is straight and hold it for like 1 min then switch legs.
3rd stretch do the splits as far as u can down and hold it for 1 or 2 mins and switch legs.
4th stretch:if u can do the splits then hold your front foot for 30sec-1min then sit straight and bend your back and extend your arms backwards and do it with the other leg.
5th stretch: do lunges

middle splits:
stretch:do it as far down as u can and hold it there for 1 or 2min and rest for a few minutes and do it again.

high kick:
1st stretch:put your foot on the wall or a bar and face your foot/leg and reach to your foot then move your body to the side still have your foot/leg on the bar/wall and reach you hand that is farther from your leg/foot to your foot and switch legs

2nd stretch:put your hand on something strong or a bar and kick your leg (high kick) up as high as u can about 10 times then switch legs

The only way is to use stretching exercises . Try these, go into the split position with your right foot forward and left foot back as far as you can go comfortably, the go just a little more until you feel your tendons starting to strain, keep your legs straight, your body up right, if you can don't point your feet and toes pull them back as well, this puts your tendons at maximum stretch, hold that stretch for between one to five minutes no more. Then slowly bring your legs back so that you are standing normally, then go back into the splits position again but this time left foot forward. Do not over stretch or bounce up and down as this can make your tendons tighten instead loosen.
Keep a chain at the side of you to help you balance and to help you get back up. After each stretch shake your legs to relax your tendons and muscles. Now face the chair , hold onto it for support and slowly move your legs apart sideways keeping your legs straight and your back upright. Go down as far as you can until you feel that tight feeling in your legs and groin. Don't over do it !!!!!. Stand up keep your legs straight then bend down as far as you can. Eventually you will touch your toes. If you have time to do this routine every day, twice if posible and EVERY DAY, depending on your age and body conditionyou will be able to complete the splits in both the straddle and the box within acouple of monts or so. These exercises are used in martial arts classes everwhere and they do work, I am a 1st degree black belt Tea Kwon Do and I still use this routine plus other exercises regularly. Just be patient there is no quick way to do, this but dedication WILL get you results.

Depends on how flexible you are, i was able to lift my leg up to my head from when i was little and i never lost my touch. I would recommend stretching alot! Also, you can take like yoga and Pilate's classes they help. Also to lift your leg to your head while standing first you must learn how to do a split without pain. you should try this: everyday go into a split (as far down as you can go) then push a little further and hold for 10-15 seconds. Do this everyday push further and hold longer. Eventually you will be able to get into a split and then you can try to lift your leg up to your head. Also when you get fully down in a split try putting your body against your foot(that way when you are doing it while standing your body will already be use to the stretch)

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!
