I think that the Steelers are taking the Pat's road to be the next dynasty. They one the Super Bowl, unexpecdedly, just like when the Pat's beat the Rams for their first one. Then the next year the Pat's weren't too good and missed the playoffs, probably like the Steelers this year (unfortinally). Then the Pat's won the Super Bowl the next two years. With the talent the Steelers have (Big Ben, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, etc.) that is deffinitly a probibilty. Any thoughts?

i disagree. cowher is going to retire maube after this season. big ben's season doesnt show a lot of promise. they have no #2 option at WR like a Harrison-Wayne or Branch-Givens (in the Pats dynasty days) defense, O-line and RB are solid though

by the way, their defense is #3 this year to the guy who said they need a better defense

they are still contenders but not a dynasty team

The Steelers were a dynasty long before the Pats ever became competitive. They are a young team with a solid core of vets. Most people don't realize how difficult it is to win it all once, let alone 5 times. Also, I can't believe that at this late date, there are still morons that think the Seaducks lost the SB because of the refs. Hell. the Steeler "D" alone beat the snot out of 'em, so the "O" didn't need to have a big game.

It is possiable. Oh and to the Raven's fan how long do you think McNair will last? Sure he isn't old by age but he is OLD by the abuse to his body. Do you really think Bollier can do the job? I thought that was why McNair was brought in, because they NEEDED a QB. So the Steelers if they could get a decent start to the season and strong finish like they seem to be doing the last two years will be hard to stop. Yeah we got the young talent, although Ward is starting to get old, and could easily go for years to come as long as we keep them togther. Let's just be glad we got Fast Willie resigned and at a cheap price. Valuable asset to have gotten a 4 year extension.

I don't think so. Coach Bill Cowher is still contemplating on whether he's going to retire from the Steelers' Head Coaching job or not, still. I really don't see these guys realistically contending for the championship next year, although I think they will make the playoffs next season, by sneaking into a wildcard around Baltimore and Cincinatti. Good luck to you guys if you're a Steelers fan.

I gotta agree with preacher, i wish everyone would get over last years superbowl, the seahawks are weak, the nfc is weak, and the fact that seahawks fans have to lie to themselves and say the game was handed to the steelers by the refs is again.....weak. the steelers this year had a rough start, with all their injuries (roethlisberger, polamalu, ward, porter.........the list goes on........) you can't expect them to do well, but they've stepped up and they will finish this year with a winning record, and come back next year for ring #6

They need to upgrade their defense, if they can do that via the draft and free agency I think they'll be a very tough team. Big Ben is just having an off year and I think he can come back, Parker is going to be a stud RB for years to come, and we already knew Hines was a great WR.

I don't think that this situation is at all the same. I thought Big Ben was really cool and a great player until he went off and thinking he was invincible hurt himself. He now cannot perform as well and therefore his team isnt. I think that this season is really going to kill his ego and then he won't be able to lead this team into a dynasty right now. I think that eventually when he is fully recovered and is more mature as both a player and a person then maybe he can lead them into a dynasty.
