You always hear about men getting gut-shot in wars. Worse even happens.

But, throughout the ages, women have shied away being willing to withstand this pain and protect their communities and countries.

I would consider myself a very confident and strong woman. I think my husband would agree. But there are times where I know he would be able to handle pain more than I. Or at least that I would complain about it and he wouldn't.

Also as far as gun shots...I always wanted to be in the armed forces or a cop. What turned me away was the fact that when I passed a test that told me what jobs I would have in the armed forces they wouldn't allow women in the top 3 jobs that I had scored so well in. They had to do with guns, bombs, dangerous acts. The test was all math and science and I scored well in the top areas but only men were allowed to learn those jobs. That made me so angry that I decided not to be in the armed forces.

Now I realize that job wasn't for me. (obviously)

I think that sometimes society makes women feel like they couldn't withstand pain...when we could. On the other hand I feel that if my husband and I were both shot, I would probably complain more or have more complications just based on our personalities.

I am not speaking of all women, as I know a few who could withstand more than men and I also know men who are complete pansies.

Also remember that women withstand a ton of pain when having babies that men never experience.

Well considering that BOTH men and women are able to enlist and fight in the military forces, join the police force, swat, fire department, and everything else I don't understand your question. If men could withstand it better wouldn't they survive? Hummm....

Women didn't shy away from protecting their communities and countries in this way, they were not allowed to join the military, vote of anything like that. They were expected to be barefoot and pregnant to endure the pain of child bearing! Just expected to be home in the kitchen right? Doesn't make them any less able to withstand pain just because they are not out getting shot. They are pushing a watermelon our of their crotch... that's gotta count, and they are not dying to not feel the pain they live after.

But one of the worst pains is child birth, gall stones and kidney stones.

Don't women get shot in wars?

It sounds like you're comparing physical and emotional/mental pain. I think that everyone has their limits to all pains and guys for some reason, well not all guys, are afraid to show pain because it would be a weakness and men have always been seen as strong men who can handle anything. So, it depends on the person, what they have been through, and what type of person they are. Women seem to be more protective of their children whereas men are generally protective of the whole family.

No, on the contrary, women are generally able to take higher levels of pain than men. It has to do with the brain being "tuned in" to giving birth, which men cannot do, obviously. Giving birth to a child is one of the most painful things that can occur to a mammal of any type, and the female has to be "made" to take it.

It depends its true that men do get shot and blown up in wars. But some not all women get severly beaten and raped in there lives. When men get shot in war they either are in the hospital or sent home, but some come back. When women get hurt severly, beaten and raped that is physical and mental tourture. Men can get over the shot but when women get hurt they lose trust in men. I believe that women suffer more mental pain but men can withstand more physical pain.

have you ever seen a woman giving birth? it is too painfull man. I dont think we could withstand the pain as good as women.
I have seen many women around the world in war and have heard much about their abilities withstanding difficulties.
I dont think that if war becomes nationwide, women would ever go and hide but they will also go ahead and fight.

Ever since the feminist movement, women have been able to withstand just as much as men. Prior to that, men could withstand more.

Seriously, you can't measure pain. No one knows how much anyone can "withstand".

No. Men can't withstand much only ego. Men can't even handle stress well....they have to go get drunk to relieve stress. LOL. Men can barely handle a headache without being very moody. Imagine what women have to deal with. Stress, PMS, high heel shoes, tight pants......LOL.

Except for all the women who dressed up in drag and risked being raped/murdered if discovered in order to fight in wars. Or the WACs and WAVEs in World War 2. Or the women fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan at this very second. What selfish cows they must all be.

Not necessarily, i mean some men probably can, but generally i think women are tougher. for example, they have to give birth, put up with monthly cramps, and in most societies they are still looked down upon, and sometimes abused. in poor countries, they have it a lot worse than anyone else, so they have to put up with that too. i don't know how you guys do it..

Merry Christmas
