I can't remember when I realized there was no Santa. I think I "played" the game long after I figured it out. LoL
What age is normal for kids to realize this, and how do you go about letting them figure it out?
I agree its probably time to start letting mine know because she saw on TV that some show called Santa bad! She sorta freaked out. LOL Thanks for your help!

Its usually between 10 and 12, but all this depends on where their minds are. When they start realizing some of the technical stuff is far fetched is the time when the cat should be let out of the bag.Like my son did. He said one day, I know he is supposed to be magic but how can even someone with powers go to some 300 billion houses in under 12 hours and carry enough stuff to do it?? He was 11 at the time.

2 clues for me
i think i must've been about 8
Christmas Eve my mom was making so much noise with paper and a very popular game, Time Bomb was being played by her and her friends
i also realized those to and from tags that went on the presents said from "Santa" but noticed they both had the same exact handwriting!!!
i'm 46 now
my presents were still from "Santa" until i lost her (i was 44 :))
i find myself doing the same thing...
memories.
my advice is don't give away Santa's secrets
they'll find out soon enough and surprisingly enough the transition will be minimal because at that age THERE ARE STILL PRESENTS TO BE OPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAY'S

There is no good answer for an age when children stop believing.
With peer pressure these days children are growing up way to fast, and don't really enjoy their childhood. I would say you don't need to tell your child the truth about Santa until she brings it up.
If she still believes, than explain to her that television does a lot of bad things that children shouldn't have to see for ratings, and money.

When I learned there was no Santa, I was in fifth grade. That is kind of a appropriate time because everyone else in my class started finding out that there is no Santa anyways.

well Santa does exist for me :) but I think kids find that when they're around 10. And that's nothing comparing to what some do until 12!! freaking fkin out. We shouldn't forget we're kids until 18...good luck with ur kid!
