This really makes me mad, the o-line gets no credit at all. Without a good o-line, no RB could be good. Look at Edge for example, at Indy he was considered one of the best (because of his line) now at Arizona he ...... well you get the point. Now Addai is haveing a great year with Indy, maybe Arizona should blow a lot of money on a trade for him. Another example is Denver. They have had a lot of different RB's and all have been 1000 yard rushers these last few years. I know they havent been as good this year but still... I know that this is just the way it is, and the skill positions get all the glory; but remember, with out the big boys, skill positon players would be S.O.L

the oline doesnt score the touchdowns, throw the touchdowns, or catch the touchdowns. they dont even stop the touchdowns... they do nothing flashy and nothing extravagant. they do their job, some better than others, and the recognition they get is within the nfl community.

The Offensive Line is (sadly) the red-headed stepchildren of the NFL. What they do is integral to the success of the team's offensive scheme. Without a solid O-Line, most of the top QBs and RBs would become roadkill against decent defenses. WRs would rarely get a chance to catch the ball since the QB would be scrambling to survive or be sacked a second or two after the snap.

Offensive Linemen do not have any stats to measure directly (look at the back of O-Linemen football cards and all you will see is a small block of writing that tells about what they do). The success of the line comes in when you see how well the RB or QB does that season. NFL teams know the value of an Offensive line when Minnesota and Seattle were in a heated argument over Steve Hutchinson. The result is Minnesota's running game making a vast leap from crappy to strong. Seattle has made Walter Jones (Left Tackle) their franchise player for a couple years straight because he is integral to their offensive success (ask Shaun Alexander). Edgerrin James went from one of the best Offensive lines in Indy to a nonexistent one in Arizona, and his statistics show the difference that an good O-Line can do. Houston's future success, in many people's eyes, will only come when they build an Offensive Line that can actually provide better blocking and support. Tom Brady knows how important his Offensive Line so much that he brought them into the limelight during his MasterCard commercial a couple years back.

Casual or bandwagon fans may only focus on the high profile players, but the true NFL fans recognize the importance of the Offensive Line ... they are the unsung heroes of any team.

Some O-Lines do get credit. You hear alot of the Steelers O-Line in good years. Most don't get credit I admit. Although you hear when they are bad. Like the Cards. No one got why Edge would want to go there considering how bad their line is.

They do, just not in the Media, I know Donovan McNabb for one buys his Lineman a pretty sweet gift each year, one year he bought them all top of the line rolexes If thats not recognition Idk what is. I bet LT has taken his linemen out to a couple of steak diners this year and if he hasnt he probably will at the end of the year, perhaps in hawaii like the others said.

And Denvers line gets credit from anybody who knows their football

The o-line doesn't get a lot of praise because most of the fans of the game don't understand what a 'good' O-line play looks like. All that they see is statistics. and there aren't that many stats that o-line players can get.

They don't get the praise from media, but I guarantee you that every star running back and quarterback appreciates his line more than anything else on the field.

It is a pretty common thing for RB's and QB's who make the pro-bowl to buy plane tickets for their O-line and take them to Hawaii with them.

Because the O-line is just a bunch of big fat pigs ! What can the press write about them ? That they pushed their weight around the field really well Sunday ? They get paid good $$$ to make the fly boys look good. It is what it is and thats it.
