Why is the person asking or talking special enough for me to listen? Are they worth my time?

This probably sound weird. But, first I remove myself from the question or statement and then, look at it from their point-of-view and not mine.

I think that maybe most people don't listen as much as they are trying to think of how they are going to respond to the other person.

I think is this question worth answering and how badly does this person need help as oppose to anyone else. if it seems worth it i talk or answer.

I think that they better want 100% truth, not the usual "do what ever is in your heart" b.s. they get from their firends and family!
