Whenever I try to connect my router, I have to hard reset my dsl modem. Then access my modem to do an internal reset, after that I connect my router its fine. But the next day, when I try to connect I have to do the same thing again. Sometimes, that doesnt even do it. I called my isp and they said my direct connection is perfect. So I've come to the conclusion its my router, what can i do? I was thinking of getting a d-link or netgear router instead.

ok let me explain it step-by-step:

1) My direct connection from my dsl modem to my computer is fine

2) When I try to connect my router there is no connection

3) I have to do a hard reset of my dsl modem, access the moden via ip adress (e.g. xxx.xxx.x.x)

4) I then connect my router and everything is fine.

5) occasionally, I would receive drop connection

6) I would turn everthing off that night and when I try to connect the next day I would have to do the same thing over again

I hope that clarifys it

If you haven't already, you may want to upgrade the firmware on the router. Go to www.linksys.com and download the latest version of firmware. Log onto the routers web interface, go to the administration tab, find the area to upload newer firmware (make sure you are hardwired for this, DO NOT DO THIS OVER A WIRELESS CONNECTION!!!!!!) upload the new firmware and see how it works then. I have installed serveral of these and the stock firmware is notorious for being buggy, newer firmware has resolved this quite a few times. Other times, it has actually been the service provider, but I would start here first.
