Some people cannot wear certain types of jewelry. THey have an overabundance of a chemical in their body that makes everything but real gold turn green.

There are two things you need to be aware of
first a sliver polish is not a silver cleaner.
so something like Tarnex will clean then apply a good paste polish.
on to part two...it sounds like your buying silver plated rings. that base metal tends to be brass or copper. A thin layer of silver is applied over that.
So that would explain why your ring now looks brassy and why your finger turned green. Brass and copper both turn green in time. Seems either from normal wear or the cleaner you used has a bit of grit in it...never use brasso on silver BTW...
Really if you have this problem a lot the thing you need to do is stop buying plate jewelry! normally in a store it will read Sterling sliver. Pure silver will have a stamp in the ring but not always...
pure sliver costs just a little more than plate. For X-mass I got a very nice set of hand made Native American made ear rings for ten dollars. that's only a couple dollars more than I would have spent at a department store but there will last her whole life...if she doesn't lose them before the end of the day that is...

If your finger is turning green then there has to be some type of copper content in the metal. Maybe if you soak it in the cleaner overnight and use a toothbrush to scrub it a little might help. Hmm maybe its you that has a high copper content. LOL

I wear real silver and have never hadthat problem, but I also have never used a jewlery cleaner on my stuff. I use a mint toothpaste, and a toothbrush. It might not be REAL silver if it's turning.

You should use vinegar. I have heard it works. There's something in vinegar that will take the brassiness off of silver. Try it and let me know if it works.

Sounds like your body chemestry is causing them to tarnish quickly. A common enough problem. Have you considered buying while gold instead of silver.
