agony everytime I walk or sit down. I cant even sleep on my back because my bum hurts so much and if I roll over I wake myself because of the pain. I can feel a lump of sorts when I am in the bath, what could this be ? I dont want to spend Christmas day lying on my belly.

Go to a clinic right away, it's sounds like an abcess or something and it could be infected and cause you more problems in the future. Really get it looked at professionally right away. Good luck and I really hope it's something that will go away with antibiotics. But please don't wait any longer.

Sorry to hear about your condition, but having read your entry I myself have had the something very similar.

Your description reminds me of a painful lump I had many years ago. This lump would appear periodically at the base of spine causing pain whenever I sat down.
I forget the name but I had some sort of nasty abscess, that needed surgery to remove it, including about 6 month aftercare that was provided at home on a daily basis.
If you haven't already, make an appointment with your GP, if it is an abscess it can be treated with antibiotics.

Thinking of you
Merry Christmas and all the best

to no longer be crude yet is it in that section the place your tailbone & the proper of your "crack" meet???? you've gotten a cyst. i've got had 2 pals already wade via this because of the fact they have been in virtually comparable sounding circumstances. certainly one of them surely had to have surgical treatment to get it bumped off because of the fact it became so undesirable whilst the different could take a seat soaking in luke heat water with epsom salt for a lil whilst each and every day. The 2nd i think became a mild one because of the fact it ended up going away after a quick time; that became sturdy because of the fact he did no longer have coverage or the $$ to flow to a physician. If I have been you i could attempt the soak for some days or on the thank you to be sure if it gets greater effective & if it would not strengthen then i could flow to a physician ASAP! surely, i could basically flow right this moment to the physician as a replace!!

Go see a doctor. Its probably an infection or something else not serious but even if its not serious a doctor can still make it hurt less maybe. and if it is serious then the doctor can save your life or prevent it from getting larger or more dangerous. I have had a similar experience it went away on its own after 2 weeks. I went and got anti bacterial soap to help I do not know if it made a difference.

If you get anti bacterial soap do not use it on a normal basis because you can make bacteria more resistant to anti bacterial medicine.

It is a Pilonidal cyst. Both my sister and father had to have them surgically removed. There are several things you can try first. Either go to your doctor so you can get some pain meds and ask him or look up Pilonidal cyst on the web. Good Luck.

Maybe you have hemorrhoids?

"External hemorrhoids are those that occur outside of the anal verge (the distal end of the anal canal). They are sometimes painful, and can be accompanied by swelling and irritation. Itching, although often thought to be a symptom from external hemorrhoids, is more commonly due to skin irritation."

Go see your doctor soon. That would be the best way to get your problem diagnosed and treated.

See a doctor. It may only be a simple matter of a cyst that needs to be lanced. It may be something more serious that needs immediate attention.

It's a growth and you're NOT going to the doctor?? It could be a tumor on your sacrum and your only worried about sleeping on your stomach? You need a biopsy TODAY.

Sounds like a boil, you should call the doctor and they will numb the area and remove it (virtually painless)
