I believe that it should be kept Merry Christmas, especially since Hannakuh ends today, there's no more reason to say happy hannakah. Christmas is still to come, so should all the stores now go back to merry christmas?

What do you think about this whole controversy that came up just maybe 3 years ago?

There are more holidays happening this time of year than Christmas and Hannakah. There is Kwanzaa and Winter Soltice as well. Not everyone celebrates Christmas and just because I go to the store to buy a toothbrush, does not mean its a Christmas gift. I think saying "Happy Holidays" indicates that you are a thoughtful person and realize that people have many different ways of celebrating the holiday season.

I've never celebrated Christmas and have never gotten offended when anyone wished me a 'Merry Christmas'- it's just stupid issue perpetuated by whiners... period. People who are kind enough to wish anyone a 'Merry Christmas' deserve a polite smile and a 'Thank You'... Also, I'm guessing they don't have enough really serious things to worry about... or they'd be doing that and just glad for a little cheer! Merry Christmas to you!!

With all appreciate meant to you why is asserting Merry Christmas a difficulty yet yet that is okay to assert chuffed Hanukkah & chuffed Kwanzaa? i myself appreciate your opinion yet to me this concern isn't something greater suitable than the PCP(Politically maximum remarkable Police) concentrated on & attempting to censor a definite team. To me that is an obvious double time-honored. definite i agree no longer anybody believes in Christmas or is Christian yet to me it appears that evidently is basically a difficulty whilst that is somebody asserting Merry Christmas. It would not look a difficulty whilst somebody says chuffed Hanukkah or chuffed Kwanzaa. If it became honest for all 3 greetings i could haven't any difficulty with it. yet because of the fact it seems to basically purpose one team I actually have a difficulty with it. I grew up as a baby asserting Merry Christmas & no person is going to make me sense distinctive. the only time will say chuffed holidays is whilst i be attentive to the guy is Jewish or the guy celebrates Kwanzaa in any different case i can't be compelled to no longer say Merry Christmas basically b/c some human beings needs to censor & be Politically maximum remarkable. final i remember it somewhat is a unfastened us of a. so some distance as your grandmother is going i visit basically say that the two certainly one of you're able to easily appreciate each and each others opinion on the difficulty. even nonetheless because you're a funky touch with me i visit assert to you chuffed holidays.

i never really thought about it like that... i always said happy holidays because New Years happens a little after Christmas, so when i said happy holidays or heard people saying it i thought they meant "Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year"

Its a fabricated non-issue. I could care less whether someone says merry christmas or happy holidays or merry yuletide or happy solstice. All this nonsense is the result of a handful of uptight morons.

i don't think this much of a problem. I'm sure that some non-catholics might get a little bit annoyed when everyone says "merry christmas", but they probably learned to deal with it by now. This whole "controversy" is only because of some overly-sensitive people who get offended WAY to easy.

I guess because Christmas is a Christian holiday and it's just easy not to offend someone who has a different religion and say Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas all the way if people dont like it they shouldnt celebrate it, i mean it is a Christian celebration. You don't see other religions changing the names of their religous festivals and celebrations to accomodate anyone else
