Bought my first laptop, went to buy a cooler pad, the reviews were all over the place! Could someone let me know if they actually own one they like? Thanks!

Also, do you have the converter power cord that claims to work on planes, trains, and automobiles? Do any of them really work well? Thanks, just don't want to spend $100 for something that's useless~

Both the Targus and Antec have been selling their laptop coolers as low as $10 after rebate. The problem with these laptop coolers is that in a controlled environment, magazines and reputable web sites have not been able to prove that laptop coolers actually work. Yeah, people have provided good reviews, but "cooler" is such a subjective criteria.

Targus is sleek and Antec is a little bulky. I would pick Targus. I have seen it sold between $10-$15. It was actually on sale for $15 at Staples last week.

As for the airplane/travel kit, I would recommend Targus. I have yet to be disappointed by any of Targus' equipment. It's affordable and it does the job it advertises. If you want to get premium quality, then you have to pay a substantial higher price.

I can tell you what not to buy. Never, ever, for a moment consider buying Belkins plastic laptop tray with built in fan. I went through two of those in about two months. They will literally fall apart on you and the tiny fan somehow manages to create the sense a learjet is flying just feet above your house.

I saw a couple of good ones at Office Max. I can't remember the brands though. Choose your own according to needs. They have dual fan and single fan models. Bring along your lap top and check for fit. Good luck.
