I have a Compaq Presario R3000 with an AMD64 Processor. I have Ubuntu (Dapper Drake) built on it but the touchpad is so sensitive that it is unusuable. When I put my finger on the touchpad and move it anywhere on the screen, it is so sensitive that it will either start clicking randomly along the way or consider it a hold and drag rather than just moving the mouse. It makes the laptop fairly worthless as a laptop because it's unusuable unless I have an external mouse connected, which is fairly annoying.

Thanks!

For my computer, you can go to start -> control panel -> mouse -> touchpad. Then there will be options for you to change that sort of thing. Hope this helps!
