I think it is human nature to be a little self-centered. After all, the world we know, wouldn't exist if we didn't exist, eh?
Another thing to look at, it is hard to look outside of the self and try to put yourself in other's positions.

Not all men are like that. Usually men who are like that had mothers that made them the center of everything and catered to their every whim.
