Try booting into safe mode, choose the Administrator account. If it has a password, you may be out of luck.
Where did you steal the laptop? 8-)

STEPS TO CHANGE/RESET PASSWORD FOR ANY USERNAME
Reboot the computer
Right after the bios is finished, hit F8 (or F2,10,12)
Select 'Safe mode' or 'Safe mode with networking support'
Windows will boot up to the logon screen. Click administrator, 9/10 there is no password.
Do, Start->Run->type 'command'
At the prompt, type 'net user' which will display a list of usernames. Find the one you are looking for, try 'net user username' for them all. Type 'net user /HELP' for more info.
To reset the password type 'net user username *' where username is the username you want to reset.
For no password, leave blank.
Now, reboot and you can login as that user.

What is the make and model of your laptop? So far, I have seen only solutions that have to do with Operating Systems. Some laptops have up to and inluding, 3 passwords. "Start-up, hard-drive, and an administrator password".
Different laptops have different procedures. Some have no way. Being in this situation doesn't always mean a laptop has been stolen. Old computers get re-cycled, and when re-sold, the passwords are not provided.

I am assuming you can boot into Windows and it is not a Bios password you are talking about. You can as others have suggested go through the Admin account if this is not passworded. failing that there are technical ways to do it but unless you are familiar with the registry then it may not be advisable...

Hi,
If ur looking for a software then i would recommend this one: - http://www.gold-software.com/AdvancedWindowsPasswordRecovery-review12261.htm
Otherwise, if u wanna do it manually then restart ur pc in safe mode and then login as another account rather than the admin. Then change the password from the control panel. As simple as that.
Thirdly, this video tells u how to get around it : -

I'd go with "Buzzy Buddy"'s Answer (below)...except when you click on F8---he forgot to say, when your Brand Name (COMPAQ or HEWLITT-PACKARD or whatever) you should click the F8 key CONTINUOUSLY...
& once in the "Black Screen, you'll see a list of choices---USE YOUR ARROW KEYS TO GO TO 'SAFE MODE'...and then click on the "ENTER" key.
BUT, MAYBE you need to contact your computer manufacturer's tech. I could be arrogant to think all are done like mine. & like one person said, there could be 3 passwords. So, check this out carefully...and I'd recommend going to the tech.
The First Answer-------BLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAATTT!! You know not EVERYONE in America is lazy --- YOU DUMB S***(Some just haven't had the training others are fortunate enough to get!)...so get over yourself. LONG LIVE AMERICANS! & CANADIANS! & a POX on whoever that was!

Just put it back in it's box and take it back to the shop, ask for a refund. If they want to know, why tell them that your too thick to own a computer. Geeze people like should be sterilized, what a pointless boggert.
