Dottie's True Blue Cafe - 522 Jones St near Ofarrell

The comfy vibe of Dottie's makes this a popular breakfast choice for locals and tourists alike. Big and homemade are the buzzwords here. All the baked goods are made in-house, so start with a hunk of cinnamon-streusel coffeecake or an apricot-oat scone, or try a slab of cornbread grilled and served with jalapeno jelly. All the basics--scrambled eggs, tasty whole-wheat-cinnamon pancakes, thick slices of French toast--can be found on the regular menu, but the real fun shows up on the specials board. Don't miss the cornmeal-raspberry pancakes (a frequent special), or the massive omelettes and frittatas.
