Cartoon transexualism strikes again. Take a look at Fantasia. In the scene with the crocodiles and ostriches dancing together, the ostriches are wearing tutus and have bows on their heads, but the black and white colouring makes them male (female ostriches are brown).
It all boils down to what looks good, even if it's wrong. And as someone else said, it's a kids cartoon, and they don't care.

I've noticed that too, and come to the conclusion that it's because they wanted something there because he looked boring otherwise but couldn't put what a male has because this is a kid movie, after all.
