Has anyone really gotten a false positive?

I'm just curious. I took a clear blue easy and it was positive and I didn't think twice about the results.

I've had false negatives, with my last pregnancy. I think false positives are possible, but not likely. They test for the presence of a certain hormone. It's not likely to test positive for something that's just not there, you know what I mean?

False negatives are much more likely. It just means that the test missed the presence of the hormone. If you're worried about it, make a doctors appointment, or go to the health department. Good luck

I heard it could not be a false positive because the hormone it detects is only present when you are pregnant. If you just had an abortion or a miscarriage then there could be some of this hormone present but you would be aware of the situation.

Usually you will only receive a false positive when it is a chemical pregnancy - one that is only detectable by testing for it, but will miscarry soon after.

It's best to follow up with your doctor for confirmation through blood testing.
