Small meals will have to be bland meals and light. It does help to have something down there. The trick is finding what will not be too overwhelming that you are sick from it. Have you checked with your doctor that you don't have a vitamin B deficiency? That can make you more prone to intense morning sickness Gingerale, ginger tea (which can be made by grating fresh ginger into hot water), toast, almonds, and (of course) crackers all help with nausea. Usually carbohydrate based food items and nibbling is the key. It sometimes took me a while to down 2 crackers. Steer clear of fatty foods, rich, spicey, acidic and fried foods, and foods with intense smells. try and eat your food cold or room temp because the smell is often les intense. Eat what you crave though. Often what you crave will stay put in small amounts. Anything in you is better than nothing so if its that jelly donut that you crave you should try it out. Make sure you are getting a prenatal vitamin in there when you do get some food in you so that you and the baby are getting the proper supplimentation. When you do get up get up slow, rest often and make sure you are getting fluid. Gatorade and powerade have electrolytes and glucose to help you out if you are sick often. Not having enough fluid will often make you feel sick. Doctors can prescribe a med (in Canada it is called Diclectin) to help with nausea and vomiting.

If you have the flu don't use aspirin just Tylenol. Get the fever down and drink ginger ale that is room temperature. Ginger is always good for anyone who has nausea.

Emetrol, an otc liquid, or the dr can give you phenegran (I'm not sure about the spelling there) if it's bad enough. And lie down on your side (this works for me, and leaves you pretty close to the trash can if you have to use it in a hurry).
