NO I don't think that is right. People are dying younger and younger. Easily Mom could die at 73 leaving a 10 year old child behind.
I would be devastated to lose my Mom so young.

It's extremely selfish. After 35 women have an increased risk of birth defects, plus it's unlikely a 63 year old woman has the energy to properly care for a young baby, and could recover from the birth properly.

Who benefits?....the mother or father
Who is hurt?...potentially the child when the mother or father passes on before the child is an adult.
Personally, I think this is a very selfish act. It a 63 year old wants to parent, find a teen age foster child. The person still has the chance to positively influence a child and will likely be around until the child is an adult.

I don't believe it is fair to the child.
The ethical issues can be lessened if the mother names a younger person as Godparent and makes sure the Godparent is an active participant in raising the child.
Even so, anyone in this situation should ask themselves how they would feel to lose their mother before adulthood.

It's not fair to the child. I already feel like I've lost time with my parents and my mom was only 33 when she had me. Dad was 36. Also there are too many health risks for both mother and baby.

Well @ that age, it is even harder to be in touch with the child. Death may be right around the corner. The child will be teased. It isn't right. I think it is selfish. @ that age, how will you take your kids 2 theme parks and things like that. I wouldn't even adopt kids @ that age.
The sensible thing to do if I felt the need to care for kids would be to open up a daycare.

Would you want your parent to die before you turn 20? Is it ethical to bring someone in the world who will most likely experience that? It's not a hard question when you employ a little empathy.

Is this even possible? I do not think this would be at all fair to the child involved. What are the odds that you will live long enough for this child to be out ontheir own? Not a good thing!!!!!
