Only if they want to. Personally, I would never do something like that, but I can appreciate the strong women who choose to.

As far as combat MOS's go, no, women are not allowed in them. However, the Israelis allow women in their army (Defense Force, whatever) and I believe they ARE allowed to have combat jobs.
Equal Rights supporters have been pushing for women to have combat experience in the military as that is a factor in promotions.
Having said all that, I have seen women at every base I have been to in Iraq. TECHNICALLY, they are not in combat MOS's (Military Occupational Specialty), but the entire country is a front line, so....

When I joined the military, it was with the knowledge that I could be injured or killed. Growing up in a military family, I lived daily with a fine example of what can and does happen in a war zone. My father was wounded in defense of his country in Korea. I have no problem with it. I also think if you put yourself in that situation, you should be equally able to do what is required. I don't think women should get special allowances for just being women. You either can or you can't do your job. Period.
If you can't... get out. More power to ya GF!!!!!!!!!!!

Been there, Done that, wish I had met your jerky *** while I was in Saudi. Maybe you wouldn't be asking stupid questions that insult women.

not sure they should be allowed on foot combat, because men are naturally scientifically STRONGER. in iraq, they're carrying many pounds of gear. and if your buddy has to carry your injured body away, you better hope he's a man...

then again, that may not matter. so i say they should be allowed as long as strength doesn't make a difference.

^ note i didn't say anything about them being dumber or scared, so STFU

If they are crazy enough to want to go there, women should be allowed anywhere in the armed forces that men are allowed to be.
Maybe when enough women start coming back in body bags, men will stop waging war(s)!...although, somehow, I doubt it.

Of course. I mean, after all, with the Spartans everyone who was strong enough was in the army, and they were pretty darn forceful. So yeah, if the women want to be, and if they're strong enough to be, yes, by all means.

sure, why not?
Other countries seem to think it's ok to send their women and children out to fight, so why can't our women fight?

If I had been in the Army and NOT been allowed to be in combat, I'd be pisst, that would have been my whole point in joining
