I saw a Discovery Channel special about the fastest animals on earth. While a bear can amazingly run up to 30 mph, a cheetah can zip past him at speeds between 60 to 70 mph. There are a few instances where cheetahs have been clocked at a little over 70 mph. This is an amazing rate of speed for any animal to run, however, cheetahs can only maintain these speeds in very short intervals because their bodies are quite prone to overheating. You may want to click on the source link I have provided for more information. I hope this helps!

Long time ago, in the 1990s, there was an experiment where a scientist tested the speed of a cheetah by making it chase a hunk of meat. It ended up recording to chase the meat up to 90 mph. Yet, eventually it was found out that after he released that particular cheetah later recordings were 50 mph to 60 mph. The scientist concluded that the cheetah they were using was the fastest ever recorded.

cheetahs run about 60 to 65 miles an hour, but its only sprinting. they can only maintain this speed for a short period of time wheich is why they must be very accurate in hunting

It is the fastest of all land animals and can reach speeds of up to 70 mph (110 km/h) in short bursts up to 500 yards (460 m), as well as being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (~62 mph) in 3.5 seconds- faster than some supercars.
