No I would not report MY FRIEND(Look up the definition of friend, the term loyal is commonly associated with it!)
Even if you consider it immoral and sponging off the state...its simply none of you business!
Each of us have the choice whether or not to commit benefit fraud and if you choose not to..then good for you. But if someone else decides to act fraudulently they are entitled to do so, its their choice! Yes, they may well find themselves in prison/fined etc but thats the natural consequences of their actions and you should not do anything to affect this!
Its not down to us citizens to hund fraudsters, the benefits agency has specific departments that do this so leave that job to them!
Anyway, this TYPE of fraud doesn't affect the rest of us, its hardly that the fraudulent money would have gone into public services. I expect it just means the bubbly at Blair's xmas bash is of a better year! ; )
I think its important to ask WHY these people obtain benefit frauds, could it be because they get about £70 a week for the entire family to live off? Personally, that type of fraud is more understandable ie its necessary for the survival of the family.
But as its your friend its a good idea to ask her/him if they really need to do this? They need to weigh up the risks involved against their financial need to commit fraud. Maybe there is another and a legal way to improve their situation like legally obtaining benefits, like job seekers allowance, incapacity benefit etc, your local authority can put you in touch with the right people. Although don't take peoples word for it, read all the terms of the various benefits and do your own research because most of the benefit advisor are incompetant and unhelpful sh*ts. Don't foget if they treat you poorly or deny you benefits there are proper appeals and complaints procedure you should follow, they have a tendancy to deny benefits based on "irrelevant factors/considerations" which is appealable.
I hope that helped and best of luck. My person view is that anyone who can get one over on the benefits agency is a damn fine person. Their depatments are full of an*l xxx's that couldn't get a job in a real company anyway. Having said that, I have come across some advisors that are most helpful, they are real diamonds amongst the rough though!

Oh Yes. They are the reason you pay high taxes, and they are stealing from you. It is Fraud and theft so would you want that person as a friend? Leeching of society is frowned on as it is the likes of you that support these thieves. Tell them to stop or you will report them as you should. This country is robbed on a regular basis by these people and they laugh behind your back. They are referred to as scumbags because they stoop so low apparently. It's not that we are judgemental its just we are pisse d of with being ripped off. The person may be your friend but that person isn't our friend and we pay taxes too.

I am currently unemployed and claiming Inpacity benefit and housing benefit. I also work cash in hand on a building site during the week. At the weekends I clear tables for £5 an hour and donate my semen to the local university hospital. Sometimes I pocket a little extra by volunteering for police line ups and stealing lead off church roofs. recycling used drinks cans brings in a few extra pence as does pimping myself and selling guns to school children. SO....before you judge me just ask yourself this question : What exactly is the capital uf Bulgaria?

When I claim someone as my friend, I back them up on any decisions they make. One of my friends' dating a guy with a girlfriend. I told my friend that as long as she knows what she is getting into, and it still makes her happy.. good luck and don't get caught. The term "friendship" is different for everyone. Obviously, she trusted you as a friend by telling you the situation. You are more concerned with whether it's right or wrong to sit back and watch it take place. You are ignoring the trust behind it all. Trust is extremely hard to build. Your friend will soon learn this and you can bet she won't trust you again..or anyone else for that matter.

It would ruin your friendship - have you told her it bothered you? Talk with her and talk her out of it. I know someone that had to pay it back along with a substantial fine and serve 30 days in jail. The amount he embezzled was under $2,500.00 I believe. After talking with her let her make her own choice. If she's stealing from the state sweetie - she'll steal from you too!!! It's up to you if you want to continue a friendship.
Good Luck !

Think you would have to consider their circumstances, i.e do they have kids, are they really desperate or just milking it? I've been in tough times so would never judge others without knowing their full story first. You never know one day it could be you with the hardship...would you defraud the government if your life could be better and you really needed the money?

There seem 2 themes right here so please attempt to stay calm. the 1st is your undertaking with Equifax, if this has been taken care of your awareness approximately this individual who you have faith may well be committing earnings fraud is separate. As different solutions have indicated councils do stick to stringent tests to people utilising for housing and council tax earnings so except she is giving fake information they could desire to have picked up if she isn't the valid tenant of the valuables. in case you have faith she is giving fake information you are able to checklist her to the council, yet I consistently ask at this factor, pass forward, yet could you be happy to get your self mentioned in comparable circumstances, in case you the two believed you have been doing no longer something incorrect or doing the ideal for your self and your loved ones whether you have been bending some regulations? the different possibility is this individual's sister could have made her a joint tenant wherein case she has a criminal acceptable to stay interior the valuables however that's basically too great for her desires and it is going to needless to say pass to a family individuals with little ones and if the council are beneficiant they'll supply her a one mattress. as quickly as somebody is a secure tenant a council does not have the main suitable to evict them on grounds of "decrease than-occupancy", this remains being performed via money incentives to inspire them to stick to for someplace smaller, and it quite is between the uncommon events somebody is going acceptable to the acceptable of the housing record for the smaller sources. certainly in case you have become your life taken care of that's beneficial to think approximately the "stay and enable stay" thought, if this lady is commiting earnings fraud she is going to get found out besides faster or later, so except you have a challenge to set the wheels in action you may desire to be extra powerful off basically ignoring her and concentrated on making new helpful acquaintances who do no longer attempt to smash out with dishonest the equipment.
