I have pretty sensitive, dry skin but an oily t-zone. I was wondering if anyone can recommend products that are good for combo skin so that I can unclog pores but not end up with flakes on my cheeks. I'm looking for a good cleanser and a light mousturizer.

Ok this is the best book on skin care ever: "The skin type solution"

Borrow it from your local library, it talks about how there are 16 types of skin and has this great questionaire to figure out which on you are....THEN it gives you all kinds of tips and products for your particular skin type...It has chapters devoted to each type..

I HIGHLY reccommend it!
It's great to know exactly what types of products to use and what you could be using that is harming instead of helping..

OH and the products they reccommend are sorted by price, so it's not all expensive things either

Good luck!

Hi to answer your question. A good adult acne regimen is good for combo skin because adults will get fine lines yet still manage to break out. You dont even need to get the most expensive products on the market to get really good results. I got most of my tips from Shape magazine and they have worked wonders on my skin.
For a cleanser I recommend that you use Olay Total Effects Anti-Blemish Daily Cleanser. For toner I either like the toner from Loreal Acne response kit or Neutrogena Acne Rapid Clear Daily Treatment Pads (those are awsome to use on t-zone areas).
A great spot treatment is Clean & Clear Invisible acne patch.
Now for your combination skin.
An awesome moisturizer to use which will NOT make you break out which is used widely in spas is call Neova Hydromoist cream. You would use that day or night and it will never ever leave you with flakey skin.
It's so important to moisturize ANY skin type especially in the winter. Overdrying your skin will only cause your skin to produce more oil which inturn attracts more oil and bacteria, thus acne.
I think a good eye cream is good also for someone with combo skin. Booths grape seed eye cream is very good.
Another good thing to add to your beauty arsenal once in a while is getting a glycolic peel. It will make any post acne marks disappear as well as any wrinkles. You can do it once a month at a dermalogist office or spa or you can do it yourself as well. Loreal acne response peel is what I use and my skin is flawless now.
I know all this sounds like a lot of different things and a lot of products but it will get the job done I promise.
Another good tip is for you to use sun block just thought I'd add that in. I tell that to everyone.
You can get all of these products I've mentioned from drugstore.com or cvs. Hope this helps.

I have had the same problem as you, I was always trying new products to find the one that suites my skin best. Finally I got some advice about great products. The name of the brand is Nuxe: they have a botanical cleansing milk and Floral toning lotion these two you will use to clean your face with.. They also have moisturizer that is called Moisturizing balancing Emulsion (with plant milks and essential oils) you can use it day and night and it is Ideal as a make-up base. You can find the products on www.nuxe.com. I can inform you that they are a bit expensive but they are worth the money.

1. The first thing you should know is to never buy anything that contains mineral oils such as (Vaseline, Paraffin or Petroleum) it blocks your pores and does not contain any vitamins, It is not good at all to use on the face. So always read the ingredients of the product..

2. To clean your face every morning and night is the most important thing to do and to follow everyday.

I like the products very much they are very good and I have seen clear results. I wish you good luck and Merry Christmas!!

I have the same problem - dry, sensitive, but prone to acne as well. Here is what I have finally found that works. I use a combination of Philosophy's PURITY wash with Proactive Deep Cleansing scrub. Just a bit of the scrub, it won't irritate your dry areas but it will clean up the oily ones. Then I moisturize with Olay Definity Moistuirzer. I have found that though it costs a bit more, what I have gained in confidence and feeling better makes it worthwhile.

Good luck to you. Andrea in NJ

Arbonn'es "Intelligence" 5 step skin care system.
It's self balancing and won't dry you out. No mineral oil, no petrochemicals, no animal byproducts.
Arbonne's products are all botanically based and good for your skin. I have samples available, so you can try before you buy.
I have a friend with sensitive skin. She cant use MK, merle norman, or clinique, but "Intelligence" worked great for her.
order info on my profile,
best of luck 2 u, and have a wonderful holiday season!
